UNITED STATES—A bevy of celebrities were recently targeted in an online nude photo leak. The incident has raised concerns for many celebrities and viewers about issues involving the iCloud. The FBI is now investigating the case.
Celebrities have been discussing their concerns via social media.
Emma Watson tweeted, “Even worse than seeing women’s privacy violated on social media is reading the accompanying comments that show such a lack of empathy.â€
Seth Rogen tweeted, “Posting pics hacked from someone’s cell phone is really no different than selling stolen merchandise.â€
Lena Dunham tweeted, “Seriously, do not forget that the person who stole these pictures and leaked them is not a hacker: they’re a sex offender.â€
Kate Upton, 22, model and actress and Jennifer Lawrence, 24, star of “The Hunger Games†series were two of most targeted names in the leak. Both celebrities have decided to take legal action against the leak and the individuals responsible for it.
In addition to Upton and Lawrence, other major celebrities involved in the scandal included Mary-Kate Olsen, Avril Lavigne, Cara Delevingne, Dave Franco, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Scarlett Johansson, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Justin Verlander, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Victoria Justice were allegedly hacked.
