WESTWOOD—After pleading not guilty on two counts of a hit-and-run last week that killed Terry Carter, 55, and injured Cle “Bone” Sloan, 51, Suge Knight was hospitalized after complaining about chest pains in court on Tuesday, February 3.
Knight’s former attorney, James E. Blatt, he told reporters that Knight was assaulted in a Compton parking lot and accidently ran over the two men while trying to escape.
Sloan, who was injured, suffered a mangled foot and a concussion during the incident.
Knight is being held without bail and is expected to appear in court again Monday, February 9 for a bail review hearing. He is being charged with one count of murder, one count of attempted murder, two counts of hit-and-run with an allegation that he committed a serious and violent felony while on bail in another pending case.
Since Knight has prior convictions, this is a third strike case.
It will be determined whether he can be released on bail or must remain in custody during the pending murder case.
Knight will be represented by new attorney, David Kenner. If convicted, he will face life in prison.
