HOLLYWOOD—The month of February is now over and sweeps as we know it are slightly coming to an end, but the NBC soap “Days of Our Lives” is celebrating 50 years on the air. The soap has quite a few storylines that they have been tying up loose ends for in the previous weeks.
One of the hot button stories is the impending affair between JJ and Eve. Yep, the mother is sleeping with her daughter’s ex. Just when the audience thinks the certainty will happen, a curveball is thrown to the audience. It seems both Jennifer and Paige are getting quite close to learning the truth, but if JJ and Eve aren’t careful with their unexpected trysts an explosion is soon to occur. It will be must-see TV to say the least.
In other news, the love triangle involving Paul, Will and Sonny has exploded. Yep, Will slept with Paul, and Sonny now knows the truth. The look on Will’s face when he learned that both Paul and Sonny had been former lovers was priceless. I mean this love triangle is so complicated it’s not even funny.
It didn’t help that Will decided to out Paul in his article. So now that the truth is out, everything has changed. Paul’s mother, Tori has arrived in town and has a connection with a familiar face in Salem. Only time will tell just how much of a connection she has with a popular Salem resident.
In other relationship news, Hope learned some shocking developments about Aiden, which I suspected for weeks. Aiden didn’t kill his wife Meredith, but it was his son, Chase. Yep, the little one was responsible for tragically shooting his mother in an accident gone wrong, but those scenes where Hope had to grapple with rather she was dating a homicidal manic or a man misunderstood were riveting to say the least.
Melanie has been creating waves in the town ever since her return. Not only has she been secretly digging into the past of Dr. Mandrake, but she has hooked up with her BFF Brady. Hmm, that doesn’t bode well for Theresa who still has a flame for her party buddy. It’s amazing she has no recollection that she was indeed pregnant with Brady’s child and that Kristen stole her baby from her, it does appear that Theresa is still holding a torch for her former lover and I sense a hook-up in the near future.
It seems Melanie’s BFF, Serena isn’t really who she claims to be, as she is only hooking up with Eric to get her hands on a prized elephant antique. Wonder how Eric will respond when he learns the truth and the fact that Nicole was trying to help protect her former flame. Who would better help Melanie with her mission than her dad’s on again and off again lover/schemer Nicole. Nicole is that character that you love to hate, but she always brings an extra level of spice to many storylines.
Lastly, the wicked game of cat and mouse between Victor and Clyde is reaching a fever pitch. Why does this have me worried? I sense a fan favorite will soon become a casualty of the ongoing feud between the two. Audiences are already aware that Jordan, Clyde’s daughter will exit the soap in March, the big question is rather she’ll leave town because of a crime she committed or if she’ll become an innocent victim in Clyde’s and Victor rivalry.
Sweeps might be over, but the drama isn’t going anywhere. “Days Of Our Lives” airs
