SAN JOSE—Officials for the San Jose Sharks have released information on the renderings of the newly developed Chairman’s Lounge.
“The Chairman’s Lounge promises to become the place to see-and-be-seen at SAP Center and represents yet another wonderful example of the investment that the Sharks ownership group, led by Dr. Hasso Plattner, has made to the venue for the enjoyment of Sharks fans as well,” said John Tortora, Chief Operating Officer of the San Jose Sharks. He added that the facility has transitioned from “an idea into an artist’s rendering.”
The facility, which will grant access only to members, is set to open at the start of the 2017-2018 NHL season. It will feature seats in the first three rows, complimentary food and beverages, a team meet-and-greet experience, access to a private lounge and other SAP facilities on non-event days, personal concierge service, and complimentary parking.
The space was designed by Sink Combs Dethlefs, who also designed the SAP Center. It will acquire more than 6,000 square feet of space with a number of distinct regions, such as a formal dining area in the lower tier and a custom-built bar in the upper tier. Several 85-inch and 65-inch TV monitors will be set up throughout the space so members may watch each game from any location in the Lounge.
The new facility will have a 2,000 gallon saltwater shark tank built by the Acrylic Tank Manufacturing (ATM). Specific details are currently being finalized, though the tank will reportedly be racetrack-shaped with dimensions of 200 x 78 x 48 inches (Length x Width x Height). It will rest on a 42-inch stand, setting the cumulative height of the tank at 90 inches.
The ATM has been featured on the Animal Planet show TANKED, and later this summer. The tank which is set to be placed in the Lounge will air on one of the show’s upcoming episodes.
Those who wish to attain a membership should contact the San Jose Sharks at (408) 999-5757, as spaces are limited.
