UNITED STATES—President Donald Trump visited the areas of Lee County, Alabama on Thursday, March 7 with First Lady, Melania after the region was hit with an EF-4 tornado. They were welcomed by Alabama Governor, Kay Ivey, Congressman, Mike Rogers and Georgia Governor, Nathan Deal.

President Trump visited the victims and their families of the tornado that struck Alabama on Sunday, March 3. The tornado reached winds of 170 mph and killed 23 people, injured countless others and destroyed homes and businesses in its path.
After time spent with families, President Trump and Melania showed their respects to the lives lost by stopping at each memorial cross for a moment of silence for the victims.
President Trump signed the Bible that a little girl had in her possession while meeting the Commander in Chief.
Directly after the storms, President Trump tweeted his condolences.
“FEMA has been told directly by me to give Alabama the A-plus treatment as the state recovers,” tweeted Trump. The state of Alabama was deemed a disaster by Governor Kay Ivey.
Fox News reported that funerals are currently being held for the victims killed during the tornado. The Poarch Band of Creek Indians tribe is making a $184,000 donation to the East Alabama Medical Center to assist in the cost of the burials. The reservation is in Escambia County in the southwestern part of the state.
