SAN FRANCISCO—On Thursday, February 29, the San Francisco Police Department announced its Narcotics investigators made 3 arrests and seized over 500 grams of fentanyl. The SFPD reported in the past three months, Narcotics investigators led an investigation into persons who were suspected of trafficking large quantities of narcotics in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco.
During the investigation, investigators developed probable cause to obtain search warrants. On Tuesday, February 27, at approximately 10:25 p.m. members of the SFPD Narcotics Unit and members of the California Army National Guard spotted the three suspects, who were traveling in their vehicle, to the 900 block of Laguna Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop, detained the suspects, and served the search warrant.
During the search, an police officer with the assistance of his K-9 partner located and seized over 500 grams of suspected fentanyl. Officers also located and seized US Currency. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the three suspects who were identified as Luis Velasquez, 34, Marvin Licona, 33, and Patricia Cruz-Ramirez, 21.
Officers from the SFPD Narcotics Unit, Tenderloin Station Plainclothes Unit, and the Army National Guard responded to the suspects’ home in Oakland, and served a search warrant at this location. During the search officers located and seized additional US funds, as well as additional evidence of narcotics trafficking.
Velasquez, Cruz-Ramirez, and Licona were booked into San Francisco County Jail for felony charges related to narcotics trafficking and conspiracy. Officers seized over 500 grams of suspected fentanyl and over $70,000 in cash.
