WEST HOLLYWOOD—High Voltage, celebrity tattoo artist, Kat Von D’s tattoo parlor was damaged by an early morning fire on October 23. The shop was featured on TLC’s reality TV show, “LA Ink.”
Located on the 1200 block of North La Brea Avenue, the tattoo shop caught fire around 4:00 a.m. According to Los Angeles County Fire Department, it took nearly 50 firefighters to put out the flames.
Firefighters managed to remove valuables from the shop and the neighboring shop, Trendsetters Barber Shop, which had also caught fire.
Although a burglar alarm did go off, Los Angeles Police Department officials noted that it was due to the flames, not an intruder.
There were no reports of any injuries.
In 2010, Von D’s home in the Hollywood Hills was damaged by a fire, which killed her pet cat.
