BOSTON, MA—Los Angeles Angels first baseman, Albert Pujols, left Wednesday night’s game against the Boston Red Sox with a calf injury.
Pujols was able to get on base following a double, but while running from second to third base on a ground ball from Kendrys Morales, Pujols began to limp.
Pujols managed to finish off the inning, wobbling home on a Mark Trumbo single.
Afterwards, however, Pujols was replaced at first by Trumbo, and Vernon Wells was substituted into the game to play left field. The Angels won the game 7-3.
Pujols will have an MRI done today.
